California Legislative Black Caucus Foundation Hosts Fifth Annual Professional and Business Conference

The California Legislative Black Caucus Foundation (CLBCF) is an agency dedicated to developing leaders from within California's African American community through its core programs and seminars.

Schedule of EventsYou do not want to miss the opportunity to join us at the Fifth Annual California Legislative Black Caucus Foundation Conference as we share a collective vision to empower our community. The conference will be held May 14-16, 2009 at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel in Los Angeles. Our theme is "Challenging the Odds: Architects of Greatness." It is during this annual event that together we build on our foundation of past accomplishment and develop effective strategies to address the formidable challenges facing our community today and tomorrow.

Your participation in this year's conference will help you gain critical insights, knowledge, and practical skills development that will enhance your efficiency and effectiveness as a committed leader. You are an architect of greatness and the promise of change rests in your hands.

On Thursday, May 14 at 6:00 p.m., we will host a reception honoring two extraordinary people; Charisse Bremond Weaver of Brotherhood Crusade and Darrell Brown of U.S. Bank. We are also honoring Verizon, an exceptional organization that has supported CLBCF's efforts over the years. Julia Cooksey, Director of Government and External Affairs is representing her organization. Come and enjoy entertainment from Elaine Gibbs and the Crew, meet and network with local, state and federal legislators, corporate leaders and nonprofit representatives.

Friday and Saturday, May 15-16 immerse yourself in our four seminars, including lunch and speakers. In addition, our Youth Leadership Symposium is designed to help high school students with college prep information. Each student will leave with a master toolkit, compliments of Educate LA.

The Board of Directors, Advisory Board and staff of the California Legislative Black Caucus Foundation would like to thank the conference sponsors, donors and volunteers. Your support is an affirmation of our mission.
