Message From The President

Yvette Chappell IngramI am honored to introduce you to the pioneering work of the California Legislative Black Caucus Foundation. The CLBCF’s outreach and educational programs provide not only the vision, but also the tools to empower future leaders capable of enhancing the quality of life for African Americans throughout California.

The Foundation’s programs help forge a distinctive signature for our community and offer a gateway to address challenges, develop strategies and create valuable opportunities. Dedicated to addressing issues of societal importance within the African American community, the CLBCF offers the following programs:

  • The Annual California Legislative Black Caucus Foundation Conference provides a statewide forum for examining strategies and viable solutions to public policy issues facing African Americans.
  • The Summer Internship Program is cultivating a new generation of young adults to be leaders in business, politics and civil rights.
  • Project B.U.I.L.D. (Blacks United In Leadership Development) is preparing participants for community leadership, public and private sector advancement and advocacy.
  • The Advocacy In Action Program is developing community leaders who advocate for public policies that work to overcome racial health disparities.
  • The Health Summits are examining opportunities for improving minority health through prevention, disease management and public policy advocacy.

Your partnership as a donor or program participant has a multiplier effect, enhancing the size and scope of the CLBCF’s work. Together, we can shape future leaders while making a positive, sustainable difference within our state. I invite you to share in our efforts to cultivate effective agents for change.
