The California Legislative Black Caucus Foundation's Summer Internship Program as a premier youth leadership development program for persons pursuing undergraduate or professional degrees. The primary goal of the program is to increase the pool of young leaders in community-based programs and public service careers by targeting the next generation of leaders. Through internships with public officials, business, and labor the program teaches promising young people the policy process, helps them acquire critical skills, and offers them the opportunity to publish scholarly research on issues relative to the advancement of minority communities in the State of California.
